This is why the changing season could be affecting your sleep
When you ask your clients what their goals are, how many of them say they want more energy? We bet it’s probably almost everyone who walks through your door, and that a fair proportion of those will be waking up feeling tired and unrested. Interestingly, this recent article notes that a change of season can leave us feeling thrown off kilter in all sorts of ways – including an alteration to our sleep cycle.
With less sunlight, there is a reduced opportunity for the body to make vitamin D, with low levels associated with decreased immunity, tiredness, joint and muscle aches, and a change in mood. Furthermore, less light in the evenings means that the body’s synthesis of melatonin increases, whilst serotonin production decreases, also making us feel more tired and less rejuvenated when we awaken.
